These park photographs belong to the years when the house was at its happiest. They include the ash avenue — DSCF0316 — later taken down after neighbours built houses and, after a storm, complained of the risk. Most of those trees are gone. They also include the ice house, the glacière, under ivy and turf: fewer than three hundred remain in Belgium. That was before the refrigerator.
